I really hate timeskip Robin and no it’s not just her looks.
Gimme back old Robin please.
As a Robin fan, I’m a little confused as to what you’re implying with this post.
Judging by your illustration, the only thing you were hoping for Robin is shorter hair. Both your versions have small waists and big boobs, so you can’t tell me it’s a body issue. Robin fanservice is nothing new (just look at Enies Lobby.) Your post-timeskip Robin is an unfair exaggeration of how Oda is actually portraying the character.
And then you wish for the “old” Robin back, who has long hair anyway. You say it’s “not just about her looks”, but you don’t elaborate. Her personality hasn’t changed; are you basing this on the fact that we haven’t seen her say or do much yet? We’re only about 2 and a half arcs into the New World! Give her a chance - we still saw her being an archaeologist in Fishman Island with the Poneglyph.
The core of the character is still there - she just wears her hair a bit differently. There is nothing wrong with Robin; Oda just never matched your specific expectations of the character. Simple as that.
Since I haven’t seen anybody really talk about this, here I go. This guy, Baltromeo, or whatever, has a reputation much like Kid, and I think this character aspect in particular is similar to him -
See the clear disgust on his face after the unseemly reactions of the crowd? It wasn’t a real bomb, and yet he knew how they would react, all tripping over each other and climbing over the weak in order to be selfish and survive. With just the kick of the ball, he reveals the worst about humanity.
So when the other participant comments that he isn’t well liked, he replies “I don’t need to be liked by these shits.” In his mind, their pathetic and selfish behavior puts them even below him, who is a civilian and cold-blooded killer. Why is this?
Because, like Kid (in my headcanon), he believes that it is better to be a bad person and be honest about who you are and your faults, rather than to put on a facade of being a good and normal citizen, when actually - when it comes down to the wire - you’d step over your own grandfather to survive.
